So I don't really watch TV...
Ever since I was small, my family had a TV, but our selection of different TV channels and streaming services was constantly changing. I never really felt like watching channels like Cartoon Network, and as I grew older a lack of a consistent streaming service subscription (like Netflix or Disney +) led me to turn toward gaming as my preferred hobby involving screens. Over the years, I've had a Wii (the original), an Xbox One, and an Xbox One X. However, over quarantine, I've caught myself up on a decent amount of content such as Marvel movies that I never had the chance to watch before.
Okay, so now regarding TV shows – my favorite at the moment would probably be The Mandalorian, mainly because as someone who's never seriously binge watched any series, The Mandalorian was an intriguing story based in the Star Wars universe, and still very enjoyable for someone like me with very limited Star Wars knowledge. Another big plus (but also a negative) is that there is only one episode released a week, for eight weeks in a year. Season 1 came out last year, and so far 3 episodes have been released this year, which makes watching The Mandalorian a reasonable but not insane time commitment, which is a very important point for someone like me who usually prefers gaming over watching TV.
My parents didn't really let me watch a lot of TV either, so I haven't watched a lot of these shows that most people have. I'm glad you found a series that you like, and I would recommend at looking at some of the other blog posts to find interesting shows/movies.
ReplyDeleteMy parents also were pretty strict when it came to what I was allowed to watch, so I haven't seen a lot of the "childhood classics" everyone keeps referring to either. Looking back I don't think I really missed out on anything too major, and that's great that you found another activity that interests you to supplement watching shows.
ReplyDeleteThe Mandalorian, from what I've heard, is a gem, even if you're not a big Star Wars fan. I am a big Star Wars fan but I didn't haven Disney+ until recently, which means it's time for me to see what the rage is all about!

ReplyDeleteThe Mandalorian is definitely one of my favorites right now too, I grew up as a Star Wars nerd so it definitely gives me nostalgic vibes.
