Just checking in...
So far, my first quarter of college has brought with it a decent amount of work, but I didn't find most of it to be impossible. For the most part, it was mostly the kind of the work that just requires a bit of time and precision to complete, and not an overwhelming amount of thinking. I know that there isn't much point in saying this, but I really do hope that colleges can resume in person again (to an extent), since for the most part, my transition between high school and college was nonexistent in terms of my daily routine (online classes, homework/projects/tests) and I'm really looking forward to spending time on SCU's beautiful campus and meeting new people.
Although there is one more week until break, I can't help but start thinking about what I will be doing with three whole weeks of free time on my hands. I'm definitely planning on catching up on a few shows that I haven't gotten the chance to fully watch yet (such as Friends), and I'm hoping to get a bit into gaming on my Mac (yes, I know you can't really 'game' on a Mac, but I'm sure I'll be satisfied with the new M1 chip – if you know, you know :) I also have an Xbox, so if any of you want to have a gaming session over break, count me in. I'm also planning on spending more time in the kitchen, and I really want to perfect my pizza dough making skills (last time, I didn't add enough flour while kneading the dough so it was quite a pain...), and I really want to avoid staring at a screen for most of the day (unless I'm gaming, mostly less than two hours a day) since these past ten weeks have really got me envying people that can spend their days outdoors or doing more kinesthetically engaging activities. What are you guys planning on doing over break?
I think I'll mostly be trying to spend as much time with my family and friends as I can, since I haven't been able to see them much both due to the pandemic and being so busy with school. Obviously I'll have to adapt and be creative with how we see each other, but we'll see what happens.
ReplyDeleteYour plans for the winter break sounds like a blast, I hope you're able to have a fun holiday season. My plans for the holiday break is a little different -- I plan to spend the break working as much as I can at my job and spending my free time unwinding and relaxing after a stressful first quarter.
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to break as well! I'll probably end up playing lots of video games, but at least I'll be relaxed, right? I'm not sure of many games that can run on a Mac, but do you happen to play Minecraft? One of my friends plays on their Mac, and SCU 2024 has a Minecraft server... :)
ReplyDeleteI'm also really excited for break! I found the quarter manageable but with finals I'm suddenly completely overwhelmed, so I'm looking forward to getting back to my morning runs and going snowboarding over break. Oh yeah, and watching more TV than my brain is meant to handle!
ReplyDeletemy plan is Sena's last sentence.
DeleteSame here lol
DeleteI relate to the workload you have experienced, as it has seemed strenuous but not too overwhelmed. I'm already going into vacation mode, and I'm guessing that I'm going to watch a lot of TV and play videogames, especially given the stay-at-home order.
ReplyDeleteIf you're into shooters, you should get COD Warzone, it's really fun and it's pretty easy to get a hang of which is nice for someone like me who isn't a big video gamer
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the news for Winter quarter doesn't look good... maybe Spring, though?
ReplyDeleteI gotta catch up on the Mandalorian and I'm probably gonna be playing Among us a lot, maybe might renew my Xbox subscription so I could get bad on COD lol.
