Hansu and Isak
At first glance, I thought that the characters of Isak and Hansu were actually not too different. However as the book progressed, I felt that their similarities and differences became more obvious. For starters, they both have a liking for Sunja, and for Hansu it seems obsessive while for Isak it's more of respect and consideration. In the beginning, Hansu did help Sunja get away from the Japanese boys, and did treat her like a friend, in many ways similar to how Isak treats her. However, once Sunja and Hansu become more involved in their relationship, Hansu seems to be the more outspoken person and stands out much more than Sunja and her quiet demeanor. As for Isak and Sunja, this is not as much the case, because although Sunja doesn't speak too much, Isak doesn't seem to overwhelm her presence as much as Hansu does. Hansu does hide that he has a wife and children from Sunja until after she is pregnant, which is something Isak would never do, as he has much higher moral standards than Hansu.
While I didn't find the two similar initially, I can understand where you're coming from. They both had the "well-dressed-handsome-guy" vibe
